You are the mascot of the 500 years of Renaissance(S) in the Centre-Val de Loire. What do you learn from this extraordinary experience?
I was born in Saran in the Loiret region of France, and the opportunity to represent a region that is dear to me is necessarily a unique honour. Leonard was a universal genius. My role was to make it known throughout the world and in the Centre-Val de Loire. If the Renaissance was marked by the circulation of people and ideas, 500 years later, through the year Viva Leonardo da Vinci 2019, we have extended this approach.
What I have learned from this year is, above all, an unprecedented excitement and enthusiasm. More than 1200 events, 500 project leaders, tourists from all over the world and residents who have rediscovered their territory.
On a personal level, what are the 3 highlights of this exceptional year?
The first moving moment of this year 2019 was necessarily my trip to the lands of my ancestor, in Italy, in the village of Vinci.
As part of the promotional tour organized by the Centre-Val de Loire Region and the CRT in partnership with Atout France, I took part in 12 trips and had the pleasant surprise of seeing my tribulations told in the press.
On May 2, the Italian and French Presidents gathered in Amboise to celebrate the 500th anniversary of Leonardo’s death. An emotional moment
Like your model, do you now consider yourself an icon?
Like an icon maybe not, but I was sensitive to the fact that I had a designated designer for a whole year! Thanks to these drawings, I stayed alive, I traveled on social networks, I was shared, loved, teased and staged in situations that were sometimes incongruous, often amusing! Beautiful memories to compile…
