Medieval banquet
How about a Renaissance banquet? Simply because in provinces far from the Capital, consumption habits had not changed overnight! But we don’t want to fool you: it won’t be medieval or rebirth. There are many scholarly books on the recipes of the time, but we did not try to do culinary archaeology.
Purists will find something to say: tomatoes ? not medieval ! potatoes ! no more ! a pie with puff pastry ! more than 100 years early! You see, we’ve been looking into it! And the grumpy ones, anyway, would still find something to whine about: the “Special 500 years old” wine does not have the same taste as the one tasted by our ancestors anyway…
Sharing, having fun, meeting each other, that’s our motivation. A village festival around one of its greatest monuments: the Collegiate Church of Saint John the Baptist.
Aperitif offered: a marquisette, whose recipe remains confidential…
Grilled pig and vegetables, cheese and dessert.
The special vintage wine “500 years of the Collegiate Church” will be on sale on this occasion.
Note: for the feast of Saint John the Baptist, patron saint of the collegiate church, a solemn sung mass will precede the banquet. Officially, the nativity of this Saint falls the next day.
Reservation required until June 16 included
