In 1546, Jacques Androuet du Cerceau settled in Orléans. The stay is short but it is of paramount importance. Indeed, the urban elite was interested in scholarly architecture, and the artist published extensively between 1546 and 1551. The plan of Hôtel Groslot is directly inspired by its suite of Domestic Logis and many decorative elements in the city are inspired by its prints: Dallibert’s house, Colas des Francs pavilion…
