The royal secretaries of Francis I, builders of the Loire Castles!
During the Renaissance, the royal secretaries established their professional position and confirmed their social rise by building castles with new and bold styles, at the beginning of French classical architecture. Throughout this exhibition, discover the journey of these new lords, builders of four of the most remarkable residences in the Loire Valley: Florimond Robertet and his château de Bury, Gilles Berthelot in Azay-le-Rideau, Thomas Bohier in Chenonceau and Jean Breton in Villandry.
A 3D model will make you relive the architectural evolution of Villandry Castle over the centuries, from the Middle Ages to the present day!
