The Rendez-vous de l’histoire opens next Wednesday and will run until October 13.
This year, Italy, its culture and rich history will be honoured, echoing the celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Renaissance and one of its emblematic figures, Leonardo da Vinci.
Over four days, round tables, exhibitions, conferences, workshops and films will allow a wide audience to exchange, reflect and marvel at an inexhaustible French passion: Italy. Its cultural and historical heritage will find in Blois a perfect setting. It will also be an opportunity for us to reiterate loud and clear our love for this beautiful neighbouring country, its people and the brotherhood that unites us.
The Rendez-vous de l’histoire de Blois is a great moment in the intellectual life of our country. Every year, no less than 40,000 visitors come to share with historians, writers, publishers and professors their passion for history, their taste for debate and quite simply their interest in the life of ideas so necessary to build the world of tomorrow. This year again the speakers are of a rare quality. It is thus up to the great Italian historian Carlo Ginzburg to give the inaugural lecture.
The Rendez-Vous de l’Histoire are free of charge
